Sargimo
I have imported window elevations "by layer" from Autocad. I then selected the appropriate layer and extruded the different parts, (frame 5.5", sash 1.5", mullions 1", glass 1/4"...etc...) This worked great all of the windows developed at once. The problem is ( and I think you all ready know;) ) I can't move the individual geometry. When I select one widow sash, all sashes are selected. I now need to edit and move these windows to different locations without them moving as a group. If I import "by entity" I think it would be much more difficult to Isolate and extrude. What the heck???? Thanks for any help, Josh Edited June 12, 2009 by Sargimo forgot to say thank you :)
Tim Nelson
What you have to do is go into sub-object mode and select the splines you want to move, etc. Or if you've already extruded, then put an edit mesh or poly modifier on top of that and use sub-object mode to select the individual objects you want to manipulate. If you want them to become separate objects entirely, select them in sub-object mode and detach them.
Sargimo
Thanks Tim, worked great. I tried this once but a box was checked that made me think it wasn't working. but I tried it again after reading your reply(and unchecking the box) and it was fine. Thanks again, Josh
