Reitveld
Hello, Anyone know if Max or Viz has the quick meshing command equivalent to AutoCAD’s ‘edge surface’ command? It’s the command where you can pick 4 3D polylines and it will fill/create a mesh in-between those polys I would like to create a contoured sitemap using this technique but am having to do a bit of hand holding with AutoCAD. Its has difficulties working around complex internal objects like my building. The problem is, I really don’t know what the contour will look like was hoping AutoCAD would assist... but alas. Then I thought of Viz... but after looking through some books, I can’t seem to find anything like it. I bet I’m just not looking in the right place. Any thoughts? :onfusedw: Thanks, Patrick
muzzy
Create the splines attach them together. Add a surface modifer to that. That should work. If it didn't create any surface, refine your surface creating additional lines. Each face of object shouldn't exceed 4 vertex. This works almost same as AutoCAD's. You can also create it in AutoCAD and import as a 3ds file. It should be easier for you. Another option is terrain compound object in Max. for more information read referance manual or check for car / face tutorials on the net.

Reitveld
Humm.... I guess what I'm trying to do is the same thing character animators do all the time. I will have to read up on the surface modifier tomorrow night. Thanks for the help. Strat... thanks, and let me know if you discover anything. Cheers and I'll let you know how I'm doing.
