Koper
something i just learned at day or two ago was the bitmap filtering settign. go into your bitmap in the road texture and change the filtering to the second setting, the first one is pyrametrical(or something). you'll see the yellow stripes render out much more clearer
videep
@KOPER ------------ Thankyou Koper, your tip was a great help. I am posting the new image. Would like to hear some more from you. C&C's from any one else are most welcome.
Horhe
Good start! The texture resolution for the asphalt it too low for such a close up, nevertheless some bump could improve the texture. The street lamps are too basic, perphaps substitute some other lamps instead? The pavement texture grouts seem too wide, and white, which doesnt make them stand out. Also they should have some bump and the tiling could be a bit smaller. Some people cars would liven up the scene, and most of all provide a quick scale reference for the shot and scene (apart from the door which isnt that apparent at first glance, but the people and cars would be straight away). How about a bit of ambient occlusion/dirt map? The glass could use some work in terms of reflection and transparency. Try to variate a bit, and find the best proportions in both. If more transparency, then there should be something inside the building that would be visible. How about getting some direct sunlight in there? Try to make the rays penetrate the roof slabs, maybe the light and shadow play will make the scene more interesting. Vegetation would definetaly add some colour and liven up the shot, even if only shrubs. Overall a bit more contrast could make the scene look more dramatic, at the moment the scene is lit a bit too evenly IMO.

videep
@ Dmitry Goloikov, well thankyou so much for giving the information. But in the tutorial, they have shown about usage of vray dirt, so do we composite this pass in photoshop with the render???

Yes, VrayDirt is rendered as a seperate pass, just blend it in PS with your image.
EarthMover
something i just learned at day or two ago was the bitmap filtering settign. go into your bitmap in the road texture and change the filtering to the second setting, the first one is pyrametrical(or something). you'll see the yellow stripes render out much more clearer Thanks for this advice! I could never figure out why my textures got blurry as they got further away from the camera. Switching the bitmap filter setting to "summed area" really seems to help. Fermino
Thanks for this advice! I could never figure out why my textures got blurry as they got further away from the camera. Switching the bitmap filter setting to "summed area" really seems to help. That is the most important thing l've learned since turning on indirect ilumination
Koper
nothing to do with indirect illumination. Its just sometimes you think its got to be the renderer but then its just actual 3D
