oligophant Posted June 28, 2009 Share Posted June 28, 2009 hi everyone, i'm having an annoying issue with DR on vray sp2, i have two pc's one is a i7 running on xp 64 and the other one is a core 2 duo on xp 32 both with 3dsmax2009 and vry sp2 (core 2 duo is the slave) , the problem is when a use DR a message pop up (pic related), what should i do? both versions of vray are correct, is there a check box that i missed?, on other scenes this is not a problem, i have to click ok on each machine every time a try DR if not, slave doesnt render Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

BrianKitts Posted November 9, 2009 Share Posted November 9, 2009 (edited) That error only occurs when are attempting to open a file that was created with a older version of Vray than what is on that specific system. All you have to do is open the file and save it over itself with the current version. (There is no magic button to turn the error off) I've never gotten that to pop up on a DR node, but it makes it sound like you need to upgrade your workstation to the version on your DR nodes. You mentioned they are the same but this error points out that they aren't so that you can fix it. Current version of Vray is 1.5 Sp3a, why would you operate on older versions when the updates are free? Thablanch Posted November 10, 2009 Share Posted November 10, 2009 If you do have in your posession, let's say the version, forget about DR, or even Backburner.... If you have a legal version, send a Backburner job prior to a DR job to the slave machine, this should set the slave machine to have all required files to process a DR job.
