AJLynn
Last week I was busy and forgot to start a thread, and I'm leaving later this week for a trip to California, so I'm going to compromise and post two photos today. As before, post a photo (or two) that you took. Preferably taken, postprocessed or otherwise relating to the last week, but that part's flexible Usual size restrictions apply. Claudio Branch
Here is the last shot I worked on. Another hdr with very little light left in the day. Tone-mapped in Photomatix and finished with Photoshop and Noiseware. I included the original shot for reference as to what level of post work was done. mcl
From Boston when I was out and shooting with Jeff and Koper. Old shot, bending the rules a little. Hope it is ok Lightroom + PS.

Claudio Branch
Very cool night shot What kind of exposure did you run on this shot? With so much dof, I'm guessing you were at f/22 or so for 5 secs at ISO 800. (I will guess your height and weight in a new thread!)
Claudio Branch
Damn, Claudio. You could have stopped here Andrew, but thanks. You are too kind...
mcl
Thx Claudio Close: f6.3 - 5 sec - ISO 100. Shot with D80 at 14mm (14-24mm f2.8). Original version is a little bit crisper. I think you should stick with guessing the shooting data rather than height/weight haha.

Ah...that aperature explains alot, but the DOF looks greater than the image suggests and that is a slow ISO speed. I have been playing around with night shots set at f/22 using ISO 800 to see how bad the resultant noise shows up. It's been kind of hit & miss depending on available light. Looks great on black BTW...
Koper
From Boston when I was out and shooting with Jeff and Koper. Old shot, bending the rules a little. Hope it is ok Lightroom + PS. Wow, you really got low on that bench. gr8 shot Magnus Here's my attempt on that bench, the last one before the dive. I also am posting two, the bridge photo was the second last photo before the plunge. hehe. The bench at f22, iso100, 20sec and the bridge at f11 30sec Jeff, you gonna show?? AJLynn
Plunge? Did you go in the pond in the Public Gardens? I really hope you've had all your vaccinations. That's got to be the nastiest water in the city, and I say that as somebody who's been in the Charles many times. Great shots, guys. Now where's Jeff's shot of that bench? Claudio Branch
Here's my attempt on that bench, the last one before the dive. Nice shots Koper...that first one is quite surreal looking. I have been in the water myself Brother - Siggraph 2007. I had been off the plane for less than an hour when this sequence of events occurred: Lesson: When you see green algae on rocks, don't try to stand on them with a $650 camera! I barely managed to hand off my Nikon off to my cousin while I took an unplanned swim up to the navel... PS: reload your images as .jpeg's
Koper
I guess sometimes you just have to get down and dirty. Handing the camera off must have felt like that superbowl pass 2 years ago (manic or something) thanx the quality is much better

mcl
I have been playing around with night shots set at f/22 using ISO 800 to see how bad the resultant noise shows up. It's been kind of hit & miss depending on available light. I used to have a lot of problem with the noise on the D80 at higher ISO. Now with the D700 and FX sensor I even boost it to 6400 sometimes. Great shots Koper! I remember hearing that splash Nice to hear that it still works.

Dave Buchhofer
A shot of the Calder mobile in the philadelphia federal reserve atrium White Cascade, one of Alexander Calder's last and greatest motorized sculptures, was installed in the court of the Federal Reserve Bank of Philadelphia in 1976. It is the largest indoor mobile in the world. Did manage to get yelled at by the security while taking the shot. Edited June 30, 2009 by Dave Buchhofer Helps if you attach the photo :)
