3DA Charrette

its from the sky image, i think the very end of a very stretched cloud :)

 

like is ay, a very early WIP just wanted to see how the strips of colour were working

 

whole scene needs brightening up. sunset sky image, with midnight daylight settings in that shot :)

 

i want my light sources to be visible in the pool and in the house. The house i'm ok with i will just put a self illuminated glass material on some bulbs that i'm modelling and then use the glare shader.

 

however, the pool lights are different. the only way i can get them visible is to change them to emit from a sphere, which then gets rid of my IES profile that i'm using. When i change to a sphere emitter it also increases the intensity drastically. i guess i can just use the same scenario that i'm going to use for interior lights.

 

does anyone else find caustics in mental ray a right pain in the @$*£ to get right :)
