Hello everyone,

Well i was making a solar reflective glass for one of my projects. I could see that there is only reflection that is needed.. But, not able to get the right results.

Does any one know how to make a solar reflective glass??

I am working in 3ds max and vray.

Thankyou

I think the term you might be looking for is tinted glass. You can probably either use the fog setting in your vray material to set it or just play around with your refraction settings.

To have a mininum level of reflection, instead of just ticking fresnel reflections in your vray material, put a falloff map in the reflection map and replace the black slot with a grey which will make the glass always reflect at least something instead of being totally see-thru.

The colour of your glass is probably more dependant on what your glass is reflecting (eg. the sky in your scene)

Hmmm........Well not crashing exactly. But what i am wondering is that if i make an exterior and then i put a tinted glass on it and take a closeup shot of the building then i would have to show something in the interior. so it would increase the mesh and the viewport navigation would slow down, but while rendering, it would work perfectly......

I dont know Videep. Its up to you! If you viewport speed is slow then yes! Get a better Vid card if you can justify the price.

I have the same card and its fine for me. Sluggish sometimes yes, but it doesn't really bother me all that much. Its up to you.

Hey James,

Thanks for that. Well I have recently made an interior of an office. To my surprise, the intensity of the vray light is put to 100!!! I had made it from a layout that was with me. The height of the walls from the ground is about 11.44 feet. Its quiet surprising that i need to use such a high intensity level, where as i have never used such intensity till now. I am posting my interior here. Its not yet complete, but please help me improve on this.

Well i wonder how do you(mean to say people like you =visualisers) make walkthroughs???

As this is the first time i have made an interior according to the dimensions, i am finding it difficult to fix the camera in it and move it around and also fixing the lights.

please HELP!!!

Below is the image.

I've not done an animation yet but I know you can draw a spline for both the camera and the camera target to follow which should make the camera move a lot smoother.

There should be a tutorial in the studio max tutorials about animating cameras.

i think that you are not getting what i am asking..

i have recently made an interior, and it is according to the dimensions from an autocad file. the problem is i am not able to fix the camera. whenever i place the camera to take a render for still images, every thing appears to be so close that i cannot see the entire room but a part of it. so i have to change the FOV of the camera which makes the image so odd to see. it takes the image in perspective a lot..

i will show you an example.

here's the image

Yes that is a problem and I've not had to deal with that too much. Some others may have opinions on how best to deal with it. I don't think there is much you can do about it to tell you the truth.
