amer abidi
A small place i'm working on designing, 3rd day in now. Thought i'd go for more of an authentic pub design rather than bar. Still working on it, but ideas/feedback highly appreciated. MR render, no post. Focusing on design right now. EDIT:update.. STRAT
i like this a lot i'd drink there. the lighting atmos is great. i think what it needs now is some more life. you'd usually see some beer mats on the tables, spirits behinds the bar, empties, different tv pictures etc. i'd also brighten the tv's considerably, and try to get rid of the splotches on the ceiling. nice going
dogragurjeet
i would like it to be a shade less darker. That wood is making it look very heavy. Maybe a lighter shade might do the trick or u might just like to break the surface a bit with some lighter colour. Rest it looks quite drinkable !!! Maybe a lighter shade might do the trick or u might just like to break the surface a bit with some lighter colour. Rest it looks quite drinkable !!! the thing is, the lighting atmos he's so far achieved is typical British sports type pub. the darkness and oppressiveness of the rich wood materials is spot on. any lighter and you're then going into more city style general bars. sports bars have traditionally been extremely dark and smokey. dogragurjeet
yup i agree, take back my comment. Searched for reference images in google and got my answer. You are correct strat. Nice work... carry on
alfienoakes
And if that was in say, London, you would have the place packed out with through and through Manchester United supporters as well.. (sarcasm alert) Think the lighting and atmos is spot on. Spent many hours in places just like that. Maybe needs a bit of illumination from the TV's. Need to be brighter. They look a bit like pictures at the moment.
mattclinch
looks like the coal hole on the strand but with sports pics. nice feel. some modelling and geometry tweaks here and there and a few specular maps wouldn't go amiss, but great feel.
amer abidi
a small update... lit the screens, added props, door, mirrors, accessories... still need to do flooring and ceiling. Gonna give it a nice solid hardwood floor, but still flimsy about the ceiling design... would like to see some of those green lights up there somewhere. Enjoying this, yet suddenly feeling incredibly thirsty so i'm goin for a cold one. That's it for today, will update again on Saturday. Hopefully ill get more ideas by then. Thanks for your comments guys, much appreciated.

STRAT
make that glass of beer on the table a lot wider. Add some beer taps behind the bar too. looking forward to further progress
Tommy L
Definately needs taps. I can email you a model of a tap rail I made if you like. (http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0GCIc31NK6E/SO41dU4Q2JI/AAAAAAAAAEo/gX5ntmPSFyw/s1600-h/cam60000.jpg)
STRAT
thats American that tap rail. UK pubs generally have individual taps. multi tap rails like that are found in corporate places like the large out-of-town bowling allys.
Tommy L
Strat: True. Ive been in the States too long.
STRAT
but it's a great efficient design you guys have. you'd pour many more beers at speed with one of those things compared to the individual pumps we get over here. and ultimately, more beer at a faster speed is a good thing
amer abidi
Thanks tommy but as stephen pointed out, im going for the individual beer taps. Appreciate the offer though anything else comes to mind?

Tommy L
Apparently, beer mats are in danger of becoming extinct.
Gary Ledgerwood
I love this render. Very realistic and it definitely has an inviting feel. The only thing I would improve on is the beer... If indeed it is a pint of beer. It looks a bit like milk. Or perhaps a poorly poured beer. Otherwise, great job!!!
Camby1298
I would shoot for a lighting fixture over the pool table. Making the leather booths seem softer (lesson the reflection or up the roughness some). And taking Man U off the screens
nino
very nice chairs, table and boxes
amer abidi
Thank you for your comments guys.. I actually had to leave this visual for a while, since the client loved it and approved the design, but have actually decided to re-open it for the folio. Mumbus: Thanks for the kind words =) totally agree regarding the beer. Already taken care of it, will post update soon. Camby1298: Lighting fixture needed; YES. Take Man U off; NO! =) Ive also modeled my own high detail alcohol bottles, beer taps, beer mats, etc.. so look up for an update soon. Thanks again Amer
rishmantrijo
We are looking forward to that, any idea of a smoky pub environment?
amer abidi
any idea of a smoky pub environment? Definitely! Now that its no longer for design communication & visualization purposes, i'm going to go for the photo real feel.
Tommy L
Smoking is now banned in English pubs...... But I think it could look cool anyway. Smoking is cool after all. But I wouldnt go for a smokey haze in the pub, I think that would just look dirty. I did a cigarette in an image once: http://2.bp.blogspot.com/_0GCIc31NK6E/STx906pYFmI/AAAAAAAAAFg/zPzvq-g3l0I/s1600-h/cigarette_small.jpg It was really easy.
