Render Farm

This is my first post here as, need some help and info. I am in the process of setting up an Animation Studio and am a little confused on what I should use for setting a render farm. The machine Config and software. I would highty appreciate your help.

Wow - pretty ambitious plans. What software will your Animation Studio use? 3ds? C4D? Lightwave?

 

How many computers will be in your render farm?

 

What sort of router and server will you be using? What is the speed of your network? Network throughput can be a big bottleneck to a successful render farm.

There will be a min of 50 workstations with a fiber optic network, I have all this issue sorted out so there is no possibility of a bottleneck, the key for me is the render system that is what is confusing me also neeed one with multiple platform support.

What software will you be rendering with? 3ds? lightwave? c4d? all of them?

what versions of software as well. What render engine as well (vray? mental ray?)
