BrianKitts Posted July 8, 2009 Share Posted July 8, 2009 (edited) You can't have two objects on one layer in AE, everything gets it's own layer, so there is no cut tool in AE.... that's premiere. So for what are trying to do...... 1. set the CTI at your "cut point" 2. press ctrl-D to duplicate your current track 3. hold shift and drag the outpoint of the primary track back to the CTI, 4. hold shift and drag the inpoint of the duplicate track forward to the CTI. BrianKitts Posted July 31, 2009 Share Posted July 31, 2009 dug this thread up as I just found the better way to do what I mentioned in my previous post. set your CTI in the middle of the layer you want to cut... and press ctrl-shift-D also found under the file menu @ edit > split layer, done! If that's the case you can either change the size of the space your working with through composition settings or you can go to transform for that particular layer and use the scale transform to shink down the source video inside the composition.
