The update is coming ingo. WOrd is that they dont have the optimizing tools from Apple yet. I'm not too sure how they did cinebench with out it - its actually only one person that writes CB.

Strat: I understand your point - an abstract number seems a bit confusing. I think of the CB rating more as a unit of measurement. No matter what the scene is that they throw through Cinebench, the rating should remain constant.

David: Thanks for the clarification. I was expecting a Dual 3Ghz to hit around 620-630. Did you have HT enabled?

AFAIK, C4D is not very well optimized, it didn't even support AltiVec. So there is still some work to do.

Ingo, the Atli-Vec unit couldn't be used in the Maxon rendering engine. Not really a Maxon issue, the old version of alti-vec simply wasn't precise enough to be used in Cinema.

I'm not sure if the G5 is in the same situation. As far as I know the G5 has a different, more precise Alti-Vec unit. If thats the case, it may be possible to use it in rendering and the G5 would a giant boost.
