tucu
Hi there, I have been asked this question by a Landscape Architect that uses Vectorworks and he wants me to use his trees in my models. Is there any way to import his trees to Max??? When he saves them as dwg all I can see is the 2 planes that conform the trees but no images. Looks like his trees work similar to rpc's?..... Thanks a lot!!!!!
Ricardo Eloy
Not experienced with VW, but if they are only maps applied to planes, you can re-apply the maps in Max. Although, they're probably gonna look awful... (personal note: I just hate opacity trees!)
mentalist
Which version of VW is he using? Is he using default tree symbols or his own custom bitmaps? From memory before version 12 the bitmaps applied to default image props were not accessible (they were hard coded into the symbol). Version 12 onwards I'm not sure. Anyway, either he can provide you with the bitmap image he used or he has to do an orthographic render of the tree he wants and you have to use that as the basis of an image prop in max. And yes, it will look rubbish
