videep
Hello Everyone, I recently just made an interior scene, which was based on the autocad file. So i had perfect dimensions. When i put a vray plane light, for a room which had the height about 11 feet, I had to put the multiplier to 100 to get the proper light amount. I was so surprised to see such a thing as i had never used multiplier so high. So what i did to check was made a simple box with a shell modifier which was : Length= 10 ft, Width = 15 ft and Height = 11ft. And had to apply the same intensity of 100 to the light... Is this the right, I mean if this is with everyone?? Softwares: max and vray.
Ricardo Eloy
First, please post software related questions in the correct section (we do have a VRay section for this). Second, i sounds like a units problem. VRay Lights depend also on their size, not only the multiplier. If the lights are too small, they'll need a higher multiplier. If the overall scene size is wrong, the lighting will be affected as well.
BrianKitts
the exposure on the camera could be limiting the lights effect requiring a higher multiplier.....
kippu
or could be the colormapping rollout , or the GI secondary bounces , or the size of the opening or the size of the light ...you should post images for a better answer
Stephen Thomas
Sounds fine to me, I've had vray sphere lights set to 3000 or higher before.
videep
Thankyou Rick, Brian, Maria and Stephen for replying to this thread. Rick, shall definitly put the questions in the right places. Brian, I used the standard camera for this. Though, if stephen had used 3000 multiplier, I feel the size really matters.
