Dave Buckley
Well i have a lot of questions today. I used reactor ages ago, i followed a tutorial that showed falling coins. That is exactly what i want to do only this time with letters, then have my robotic arm pick out the letters needed to spell something. Only thing is i can't find the tutorial i followed. And all the other reactor tutorials seem to be wanting payment now after so many pages?? Can anyone help? I have all the letters of the alphabet above my camera as single objects, now i want them all to fall (because of gravity) and collide off each other and my robotic arm when they hit the ground plane, i also want my robotic arm to be able to move them out of the way, but i guess this will happen due to my initial setup anyway. So i guess the bit i need help with is how to make the letters fall and collide with each other and the ground plane. I remember it being quite simple to achieve
Clanger
1. Create Rigid Body Collection 2. Add Letters + Ground Plane to Collection 3. Open rigid Body Properties and go to each object a give the letters mass and check concave mesh, make ground unyielding 4. Preview animation, play with mass settings when you like the result hit create animation.
Dave Buckley
perfect, and i also found my coin tutorial, it was on evermotion however that describes it a little differently, both work though for what i want, thanks my robotic arm will also be colliding with them so do i just give that the same properties as the floor?? BrianKitts
make sure your letters are spaced further away from each other than the collision tollerence as set in the havok1 rollout in the reactor panel in the utilities tab. otherwise they won't react to the reactor forces.
