sirpaul
Hi there. This is my first post actually. I'm designing a house, and I'm now at that point that I don't have anymore material slots available, I've used all 24. How do I get more? I have tried the multi/sub object as someone on a website said, but it makes an object having multiple materials, which I don't want. - Paul
Camby1298
You have unlimited amount of material slots actually, within your material slot panel, if you click on "Utilities" and down to "Reset material Editor slots" It will give you a clean slate (without erasing your materials in your scene). If you want to bring back an old material back to the material editor, just use the eye dropper tool OR click on "Get Material" and select "Scene" for your material filter and it will display all the materials you currently have in your scene. CarlAhearne
Paul, One thing that I often do is to texture individual elements in seperate files, and then merge them into the main scene. That way, you can more easily manage your materials... It's not always practical to work that way, but it's helped me in the past... Carl
sirpaul
How do you do that Carl? Making seperate files, is that done by resetting the material slots for every induvidual elements?
