mikes8500
I'm working on this indoor/underground pool that has no natural light. Can you guys give some pointers on how to up the quality of the image? I know the main wall texture needs some work, it is a place holder right now. The primary light sources are the ceiling, which is a stretched translucent vinyl, backlit with LED's that are independently controllable, hence the ability to create an image. Is there something I can do to make it more convincing? I copied the mesh for the ceiling and used it for the new sp3 vray light mesh, hid the light source, then applied a Vray light material with the sky image. The other light source are the window/doors on the side that are also backlit. Similar lighting process as the ceiling. Matt McDonald
I think that you head the nail on the head with the textures. They need some work, all of them. Right now they, more than your lighting solution are holding your rendering back. I don't know your experience level but I would suggest that you make a list of the various materials in the scene and start searching the forums; this one, the chaos group & google to find tutorials on the materials that you are using or ones that are very similar. IMHO an hour or two spent there will get you much farther than another hour or two on your lighten solution.
