Photo of the Week #8

Hey guys, I'm back on grid and just scanned most of my slides from California, so my POTW this week is a wildflower I saw when I scrambled down a slope to the stream that Convict Lake feeds. I used my Minolta XD11, Vivitar S1 28-90/2.8 and Kodak E100GX, and this is straight from the scanner.

As usual, please post a photo you took yourself and usual size restrictions apply.

Here is the Providence power plant. This is one of my favorite buildings. Didn't have a tripod and was on a floating dock, so I had to do some fast exposures. I shot several shots at different times and I think this one was my favorite & least blurry.

Looked for this thread last week and somehow missed it... totally unprepared this week!

My son, just turned 19 months old... and our new back yard out in Steveston on the dike. Just moved in on the 1 of July and it already feels more like home than the previous place where we lived for 5 years...

Great photos everybody. I'm seeing excellent light and color all around - but maybe that's because I just retweaked my monitor :)

James - Sorry, there wasn't a thread last week, I was traveling and didn't start one.

Tim - Good point. I'll add a date to the title next week.

Claudio - i like the look of that tone mapped image, might need to have look at photomatix.

got around to getting some photos from hong kong off my camera. pretty generic stuff. canon 40d / 55mm f1.8 fixed lens, still learning how to use a camera tbh, good fun though.

Thanks Nic...the tonemapped shot is somewhat less polished then the final.

You can demo the software for free. Let me know if you need any help with the settings.

You can see more examples of Photomatix work on my flickr photostream if you like...
