Ky Lane
Hi guys, I have an urgent job on, and have to work on it from home (Im on holidays) but the ACM service (rpcACMMapp.exe) wont start, throws a "unexpected termination" error - ive uninstalled, deleted all files, and it still wont go!!! Any help/advice appreicated, as Archvisions Tech Support takes 24hrs+ to reply to email, and then ask stupid questions. Thanks!!

Matt McDonald
Is it trying to run on startup? Are you on 64bit? Can you screen grab the error message and event viewer?
danb4026
Have you tried contacting Jon Anderson at support? He's always been very helpful to me.
Ky Lane
Have spoken to Jon many times - yes. But, due to the time differences - I rarely get a reply within 24hrs. However, it only took 2 days to get this reply (just so others know if theyre having issues): Hello Ky, We have encountered this before. There appears to be an issue with Vista's DEP (data execution prevention), which is shutting down the ACM (when it tries to communicate with itself). Unfortunately we don't have a fix for this. The only work around is to use an older version of the ACM. You can download this version here: http://acm.archvision.com/download/files/acminstall1500.exe Please remove the currently installed version and then run this installer. That should resolve the problem. If not, please contact me and I will gladly assist. Sincerely, Jon Anderson Customer Service Manager ArchVision

Ky Lane
Another reason I love XP64 Sorry you had problems mate Older version works fine so - no dramas there. For it to be a known issue, but to do nothing about it, or have it listed on the support pages is pretty shitty if you ask me.
amer abidi
It really bugs me how RPC have been focusing on expanding their library instead of focusing on their core issue, the plugin itself! I completely gave up on them, but am sometimes forced to clean the dust collecting on the RPC cds up on the unreachable top shelf of my library.
