dmtr
Hi guys, When I render interior scene with MR daylight and sky portals, I have these dark patches on sofa and ceiling, it looks like dirt. I'm using high image sampling. Could anyone help me and tell me what is it caused by and how can I get rid of it? Thanks
Camby1298
I would have to say it your FG map is causing this noise. Increase your "Interpolate Over Number of points" to 50, if that doesnt work try 100. It should smooth it out. Another possible reason is your photons are too small of a radius. Try adjusting FG first, then if thats not doing it working on tweaking your GI settings.
dmtr
Thank you, had to increase GI Max num photos per sample up to 7000, but it is much better now.
SandmanNinja
I often use 20,000 max num of photon samples and still get pretty good render times
dmtr
could you tell me please what max num of photon samples values is responsible for when should I use lower and when higher values? I read on this forum before that 800-2500 is usually ok.
SandmanNinja
The more photons you shoot, the more accurate your lighting solution will be. The trade-off is more render time, but I don't think it's very much.
