Pictor
try http://www.cgtextures.com/ for textures, or if you need to generate proper 3D ivy geometry this little application is brilliant: http://graphics.uni-konstanz.de/~luft/ivy_generator/
Chad Warner
Or, guruware has compiled the ivy generator into a plugin for Max: http://www.guruware.at/main/index.html
SandmanNinja
and that's a neat lil plugin-in, too. A good tip: if you want to stop the ivy from growing on an object, just freeze the object that it's growing on. Don't know if that is obvious - took me a lil while
Stephen Thomas
As was mentioned there are loads of usable ones on CGTextures.com. You should be able to create a quick opacity map in photoshop by doing a 'select colour range' on the background wall. By applying a noise modifier to your plane and by adding a little displacement to the material you should be able to avoid it looking too flat. Here's a quick one I knocked up in about 5-10 minutes, I'm sure you can do better with a little more time. The grid is modelled btw.
