chow choppe
hi everyone can anyone tell me if i can scale a dimension inside 3dsmax using a reference similar to scale with reference inside autocad. why i want to do that is because i imported a drawing inside 3dsmax which was not on scale but it had dimensions. the drawing was made in feet inches so what i am trying to do is set units to feet inches in max and then made a line of 1'6" and then i am trying to match the dimension of 1'6" in the imported drawing to match this actual line of 1'6" so that my drawing comes to the right scle please tell me how to do it. it wud have been mych easier if i had scaled it in autocad before importing but i forgot about it Now the majore problem while modelling is that my value spinners are sanpping too much example if i set my units and try to extrude something the value is extruding at intervals of 1 1.5 or 2 etc which as per non scaled drawing is too much. is there any way to set that value to increase the extrusin value very slowly and not that much thanks
ivorip
Stick a FFD 2x2 and snap to the length you want, provided you are scaling orthogonally.
