Stephen Thomas
If you have a lot of windows then you should be able to get away with just using vray sun/sky with no plane lights. It may help your GI calcs if you turn off cast shadows for your glass material too.
Stephen Thomas
Also, in my experience more windows = more light = less render time. It's the darker interiors where Vray has to work harder to bounce the light around that take the longest.

subburb
you can try the VrayOverride material with a light color, at least on floor and ceiling to help light propagation and by the way control the color bleeding for more info, see http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/vray_overridemtl.htm some examples : (especially example3) : http://www.spot3d.com/vray/help/150SP1/examples_vray_overridemtl.htm hope it helps !
