cmiller3030
"This is a SIGGRAPH 2009 talk from "Advanced Real-time Rendering Course" about new lighting technique in CryEngine 3. The new technique called "Light Propagation Volumes" is used for Global Illumination and Massive Lighting, which significantly improves the lighting quality. The concept and its implementation are explained in the paper. Slides from the talk with talk notes as well as the video are provided. " i cant post the link(I don't have enough posts) you'll have to go to in incrysis -dot- com and look for SIGGRAPH 2009: New CryEngine 3 Footage I just wish Max could do that. Dave Buchhofer
Thanks for the link, one of the more readable papers out there! http://www.incrysis.com/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=

Stephen Thomas
Maybe it's just me but I was a bit underwhelmed by that. There doesn't seem to be a lot of secondary bounces going on does there?
KIT
Just one from what I understood from quickly browsing through the paper. Still the fact that it all done in real time is what's amazing. And besides these where just simple tech demos, it will probably look a lot better once it makes it's way to the art department.
Peter M. Gruhn
I think I saw something in there that made me think they were doing 2 bounces in the apartment. Sometimes I crank the quality up to full gonzo on Crysis and just look at the pretty pictures. It's very nice. It's also like 0.2 FPS. Oh, and that's merely XP full gonzo, not the Vista kind.
