jntdigital
Hello all, I always have trouble making good looking grass. How do you guys handle grass in C4D?
Ace_Face
There's a plugin called Shave and a haircut that is supposed to be useful for hair (obviously) and grass too. I think using the plugin along with the standard grass material supplied with C4D could probably produce a good effect. I haven't tried it myself yet. If you have Bodypaint you can develop some really nice textures.

STRAT
making grass is a similar process as in any other 3d app. either use an expensive plug in like s&h or use normal conventional methods. shame c4d hasnt got a standard grass renderer like vray. Chris H
Hey guys, you could always try Hair Department. I believe it can be found in the Plugins Cafe. I think it's a free plug-in, but not sure if it's free for commercial use though. It's a little heavy on the polygons (all adjustable mind you) but I easily went from a 30K poly to 150K poly scene by adding a patch of grass. Great for just an accent, but if you have a whole field of it with a building... I sure hope you have a fast machine or lots of free time.
STRAT
i wouldnt advise hair dept for grass really. as you say, massively big on the poly side.
