Greg Law
As in the other thread I imported one of my Sketchup models. It came in mainly black but rendered well. The other thing with this file is you couldn't do anything with it. I tried adding a box and using the tap measure. Nothing worked. So I wonder if it was a bad file. I have attached an image of this model in max. I made a simple model in sketchup and in came in fine. I made a simple autocad model then imported it into sketchup. That came in fine to. One thing I did notice is I couldn't smooth a sphere of cone. I wonder if there is an issue there.
Greg Law
Well I did some more testing on the smoothing issue. Managed to bring in a curved wall from sketchup and it was nice and smooth. So I suspect the sphere not smoothing has something to do with it starting life as an Autocad sphere.
Crazy Homeless Guy
Hi Greg, I don't have a solution, but rather a question. Is this imported using the new SketchUp import tools? We are not rolling them out firm wide until early September, but I am just curious how well it is working.
Greg Law
Yes it is the new import I am testing. Seems very good other than the few gliches I have mentioned. I'm trying to track down the source of them at the moment. I suspect it has more to do with Autocad -sketchup-Max route than the straight sketchup-max route.
