gsscott50@hotmail.com
I am currently doing an animation where the first 100 frames or so are taken up mainly by a glass curtain wall. I can get the other frames in the animation to render reasonably quickly using the low FG - high AA method. However, the scenes with glass are taking over 40 mins per frame on my 8 core machine. Does anyone have any tips for setting up an MR glass shader which can render more quickly then the standard mia thin geometry shader? Any help would be much appreciated! Cheers! Bruce Hart
Hi, you have tried reducing the reflection count to 1, and making invisible to Final Gather? Perhaps you could even make the glass non shadow casting if that is applicable. Hope this helps
