shikodesign2000
Again it happens, when I import 3d curves from cad to max, it comes with jaggies edges and not smooth at all, I tried raising smoothing and curves steps options in both cad and max, but no hope, can anyone help in this?? WAcky
I think if you use the DWG legacy import instead of the standard import you will preserve your curves. The downside is that it will flatten your CAD drawing into a single object which means you can either detach it in max after import or import only the object you want. Not sure if this works but i recall it as being the workaround for this issue.
shikodesign2000
I tried it but doesn't work...really I don't know why?
Crazy Homeless Guy
Not sure if it will work, but try impotyng the file as Illustrator data, "AI." Not sure if you need Illustrator to do this, but if you do open it in Illustrator, you will need to back save it to version 8 for it to open in Max. Edit: Illustrator may loose your scale, so you will need to rescale it once imported. Edited August 16, 2009 by Crazy Homeless Guy
caffa
Maybe your model is far far away from the 0,0,0 origin in CAD, that used to generate jaggies edges in max
Peter M. Gruhn
For me setting Deviation low helps.
Cad64
For me setting Deviation low helps. Right, I generally set the Max Surface Deviation to 0.01 in the DWG/DXF Import Options.
