Cesar R
This is how to move / extrude / or use any command in C4D in an accurate way. The coordinate box works just like a calculator, you can add subtract multiply and divide the values already there. For example in the image bellow I want to move an item X units from where it already is. So I select it, and on the axis I want to move just type +N where N is the distance I want to move. The same goes for scaling and rotations. I hope this helps - I am happy I can model somewhat more precisely in C4D now does anyone know to so scale the main world axis? if I set my grid to 4" for example an zoom into a small section the world axis is all scrambled - can it be turned off? Cesar R
by the way if some will like to share more tips / elaborate on how to model in C4D please add. I want this to turn into a mini guide for those of us trying out the demo since there are no help files...
Chris H
Hi Cesar R, If you look on the right side where the tabs say "attributes", "active tool", "snap settings", "materials". Pick snap settings. Then just below you'll see world settings. You'll be able to turn off the grid or make some adjustments there. Not sure about your axis though (the reg, green, blue arrows) They should get smaller by default when you zoom in, or larger when you zoom out. If you want it a fixed size go under "edit" then "preferences" and finally "viewport". It will be the last box to check off. This will set the axis to a fixed size and won't scale when you zoom around.
