Patterned glass

Fairly simple I'm sure, but how do I go about making a patterned glass material? The pattern is a series of small etched dots on clear glass. The glass thickness is .25" and is patterened on both sides.

 

I've gone through a few tutorials online but can't get the pattern to show correctly while retaining the clear glass its on. I seem to always end up with the pattern and dark areas showing from the back plane of the object (the opposite planes backside)

Fingured this out. Created a standard glass and dropped the masked dot bitmap into the transparency slot. Works great and is embarrassingly easy
