Hey guys,

I'm having a seriuos problem with my 2009 3ds max design!

Lately it started to shut down suddenly and during renders and especially every time I try to pan or zoom in & out with the mouse wheel. It is happening so much that max shuts down every 10 seconds and I can't finish none of my projects!

some times when I go to "isolate selection", it displays an error message and part of max's script that I don't understand! it also displays a msg box"exception error found" or something similar!

is it my max version or is it abug or a virus because it happens in small files also in new ones!!

I also noticed that importing cad files messes it up quickly.

I'd really appreciate some help though I know I haven't been around lately due to certain circumstances! but any help would be great! :)

Had the same problem on my first install, in the menus up top go to HELP -> 3ds Max on the web -> updates and download the latest service packs...

then make sure your drivers on your video cards are updated as well.

This fixed it for me, otherwise I would contact autodesk for help.

Hey guys,

thanks for all the suggestions that you gave me! I just formatted my pc and it seems it's a 64 bit compatibility issue!

now I'm using my 32 bit Max on a 64 bit windows XP and I hope that works alright!

Sorry for replying that late but I just got my connection back! :D

cheers!

I think most people here running the 64-bit version of 3ds max is using it with a 64-bit operating system.

You are right my friend, but my pc is not a benchmark pc! it's assembled and it seems there's a compatibility issue with it's parts

That's why I switched to 32-bit max to save myself some headache though I know I lost many of the advantages of 64 bit system!

I won't advice any one to purchase an assembled system even if it's way cheaper than benchmarks.

cheers!
