huntch3
Hi I was rendering some sections of my project in vray....and right now I have the outdoor lighting set up pretty good, but I really cant set up decent/realistic looking light for the dark/deep parts of the interior...Ive tried omnis, vray light material, and photometric lights, but they all give spotty light effects...i know this is a loaded question but do you have any suggestions looking at these two renderings? or any good online refs?? thanks allot
kippu
if you work with LWF / gamma correction method then these dark areas will get lit up by the usual methodology of lighting up interiors
SandmanNinja
Those areas are generally lit with bounces (primary/secondary?). I'm a mental ray guy, so can't offer much help. But I did work through Chris Nichol's vray tutorials and he used a plane set at 45-degree angles (invisible to the camera) that helped bounce some light into a dark cave. ronel
vray light will be fine - adjust subdiv to get rid of spotty light effects,
Thablanch
Use the vray camera, you will have settings, like f stop - shutter speed and iso - to help you get some light on the image. You shoul need no ( or very little) fill lights in a space that has such an opening on the exterior Your scene is ok, but just as in real life, your camera needs way more exposure in an interior scene. WAcky
Kippu has the right answer. Take a look here
mervin_lim23
i wonder what's your first and second bounce? this is definitely GI issue. if your using LC as your 2nd bounce, try increasing it LC value...
