FormZ import once more

I would be interested to learn from masters here what sort of parameters you set up when bringing FormZ model to Viz.

I have had a lot of problems with FormZ export when leaving ACIS solids on, also blocks in Formz are problematic.

I am quite new to Viz, so please be easy on me. I was not able to import the model so the layers in formz transfer to layers in Viz. Any help to make the workflow painless?

Well I certainly wouldn't consider myself a 'master', but I do export from From-Z and import to Max (should be about the same as Viz, I'd guess).

I honestly leave everything the way it is. I just save as a dwg in fmz and import as a dwg into Max. Bingo! Works almost every time! Once in a while there will be a problem with normals (that you can either manually flip or use a 2 sided material). You can also try a dxf or 3ds if there is a problem.

I believe the defaults on fmz save by layer - object, and it's worked every time for me.
