dogragurjeet
stanz.... good work for 2 days, modeling seems to be ok so far. I am not a MR user, but can point out some points. Firstly the composition, both camera placement and focus can be improved to introduce some dynamic nature. Composition can be greatly improved. Secondly textures. The scaling for the brick tile is good, but perhaps you can break it up, i mean it is too repetitive. Maybe dirty it a bit in PS or something. The road texture needs major improvements. Thirdly the placement of the major shadow casting light i.e. sun can be improved. It seems to be just behind the camera, thus resulting in a boring play of shadows. Try and give it an angle so that there is better contrast between surfaces resulting in depth. I think it is a good attempt and little improvements can be brought about pretty easily. cheers
Stan Zaslavsky
Hi Gurjeet, thanks so much for your feedback - i totally agree on the composition - the client is in a hurry to get the image on the marketing boards - so he said don't put any people or cars - just simple. Great tips re shadows and light position - i typically put the sun in at 12pm and get reasonable lighting out of it. What would you do with the driveway texture? thanks again,
acjwalker
go to cgtextures.com for some tarmac textures, that will help you out or vraymaterials.de and look up tarmac, although you cannot uese the material its self should give you some good textures. I would change the sun postion, even though it may adjust your colour you can adjust it in post. The sky also is very blue!
Stan Zaslavsky
Thanks Andrew - good idea re cgtextures - my current driveway material was a very simple grey with speckle through it. i like a blue sky - we don't get enough of it in melbourne cheers,
dogragurjeet
the blue is a little too saturated for that time of the day is all i can say..... post some new pictures when you have improved on the last one. Would love to see this come through best of luck
