Running 2 versions of Max (2008/Design)

I have on my workstation two versions of Max (2008 and now.....Design!). I am playing around with the new one in my spare time and still working in familiar old 2008.

I have a few current projects nearing completion. I dont want to mess those up...

My question is:

If I install Design on the farm to test it out and play, am I going to introduce any unforeseen errors/incompatibility on the nodes when using Backburner, Vray DR etc on 2008 for my proper work?

Thanks,

Tom.

Never do anything unsual or anything that might have serious side effects if you're near a deadline.

I can't tell you how many times I'd change "just a few" lines of code as a programmer only to have a program that was working perfectly a few minutes ago now refusing to compile.

Grr.... and Sigh...

I think the more experienced you get, the less you think you know whats going to happen when making software/hardware adjustments. Usually, I go for the 'if it aint broke' approach. However, Im really obliged to take this on.

How I wish I knew more about windows! I cant even get my Vray license to work in Design 2010...

I think I may wait until these jobs are off the boards and do a fresh windows install. Its been about 2 years and things are getting messy. Maybe Ill really nail my feet to the floor and upgrade to W7 at the same time. And use the Fry license gathering dust and teach myself realtime stuff. Or maybe Ill not.

Just got back from holiday and it REALLY feels like a Monday.
