Guest mutkakokudka
Hello guys, I wanted to ask if someone of you can give me a clue about a common problem that i experience with vraySky and Reflective or Refractive materials - white splotches in reflection or refraction appear. I have read and tried already everything i could find on internet but nothing seems to works...invisible sun, sub- pixel mapping, clamp output.. whatever i do i cannot remove these white artefacts. I show you an example, if i substitued environment by a normal colour or hdri - no problem at all, as soon i put vray sky there comes that white spots. The material is simple glass ..pure mistery to me. I really don't know what to do. Thanks in advance.
WAcky
Try turning off reflective caustics in the GI rollout.
kippu
how about the other materials ...are they all okay or you have any raytrace materials in them?
Guest mutkakokudka
Thank you for the answers. Wacky i already have turned off reflective GI, if i turn off refractive GI it disappears however it's not a big deal as it stops global lighting to pass through the glass... Kippu i do not have any raytrace material, the glass is a vray glass, pavement and all other mats are vray. If i change the env light with hdri, vray dome or simple environment colour there are no artefacts..i am sure it has to do with Vray Sky but i really do not know how to solve it. By the way it happened already variuos times in the past and i had to fix it with photoshop... any other ideas? don't you have these kind of problems also? WAcky
Interesting. It sounds like it could be an issue with your glass. What settings are you using for your glass?

WAcky
Well thats interesting. I would have probably thought that to be the last thing causing the problem. Glad I could help!
