v-tool Posted September 11, 2009 Share Posted September 11, 2009 hi guys, i have to render an image for billboard commercial and i dnt know at what resolution should i render. Billboard size is 13.5'x9.8' can u gus tell me what are smallest resolution i can render to come up good print at the size of billboard. when i try to render at big resolution like 6000x4000 pixels vray craches and says: unhandled excpetion: rendering frame last marker at .\scr\vrayrender.cpp, line2194 prepairing global light manager. can u tell me what should i do? thnx. STRAT Posted September 11, 2009 Share Posted September 11, 2009 yup, 6000 sounds about right. can you get more RAM in? thats probably why you're crashing. if not, try lowering to 5500 or 5000 or whatever until it no crashes. dont forget, pre-cache the GI at 1/3 size to save ram and render times. STRAT Posted September 11, 2009 Share Posted September 11, 2009 do you know how to pre-cache gi solutions? if yes, then just set the output resolution to a 1/3 of the size of the intended final output (ie, 2000 pixels) and render the 2 solutions off. if no, then quickly read up on pre-caching gi Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
