dragon16
I just have few doubts, before i ask about the graphic mode in 3ds Max Design. Firstly i'm a architecture student, i am familiar with archi CAD, but i want to learn 3ds max, but i am not sure which to use '3ds Max 2009' or '3ds Max Design 2009'. What is the difference between them anyway. Now back to graphic mode, my laptop has 9600m GT graphics card, which i bought around an year ago, and i am using 32 bit vista hom premium, I just wanted to know which mode would take advantage of my graphic card. I read ealier that D3D is better than OGL, but in D3D my view port text is very bad quality (looks doted), although looks better in OGL mode. Also my graphic card's driver is indeed updated, it is 186.81. Capture (1st Pic) : D3D Capture2 (2nd Pic) : OGL
WAcky
Regarding the first question: A forum search has yielded many results about this subject. Use which ever graphic mode you think looks better and performs better. Make sure your drivers are updated and you have downloaded any updates and hotfixes for your version of 3ds max. Jimy
Differences can be found here "http://images.autodesk.com/adsk/files/3ds_max_2009_and_3ds_max_design_2009_general_faq__2_.pdf" I just change from OGL to D3D depending on which seems better with quality and speed, and ignore what forums etc say. SandmanNinja
yes, please ignore the years of experience on forums. What could these people possibly know?
