Guest eddie57
I am using ADT 2.0. I am using an HP Deskjet 9800 which supports paper up to 13" by 19". I can print on this size paper with any Microsoft software, but when I send try to print on this size paper using ADT 2.0 my printer just shoots out blank paper. If I use 11 x 17 it works fine. Does anyone have any idea what I can do? I created a custom paper at 13 x 19 but that didn't work either. Any help is appreciated. Thanks in advance. Note: I posted a similar question in another area but I haven't received any responses as of this post. Cad64
Does your drawing show up in Plot Preview when you try to print 13x19? Maybe you need to adjust your plot area.
Guest eddie57
It shows up perfectly. When I hit print all I get is blank paper, sheet after sheet. I am open to any suggestions. Thanks for taking the time to reply. E
Cad64
I can't think of any reason for this to be happening. If it shows up in your plot preview then it should print. And if it prints at 11x17, then it should print at 13x19. Are your printer drivers up to date? Does this happen in every drawing or just this one? Can you print to pdf? It might be a long way to go, but maybe print to pdf and then send the pdf to the printer. I don't know what else to suggest without sitting down at your computer. Guest eddie57
All other sizes work fine. I have the same printer model at work and I have the same problem there. I will try the PDF option. Hopefully someone that's had this issue might read this thread. Thanks and if you get any ideas please send me a reply. PS: If I figure it out I will let you know. Do I need to do something in autocad in regards to the plotter settings maybe?
Cad64
Were you able to print 13x19 to pdf? Did that work? If so, I would say the problem is on the printer end, not the Autocad end. Did you check to make sure you have the latest drivers for your printer?
Guest eddie57
Hi, If I print to PDF it work fine. When send it directly to my HP9800 it just shoots out blank paper. I downloaded the latest drivers as HP. Installed the full version and still have the same issue. If you think of anything please let me know. Have a nice weekend. Peter M. Gruhn
I seem to recall noticing one day that there were AutoCAD specific drivers for our plotter. It plotted "just fine" (I had color fidelity issues, but all the line work peeps were happy) with the plotter installed as a Windows printer. I left before I could try the ACAD drivers. Anyway, I'm wondering if maybe OP's printer has ACAD drivers that might work better. I wonder if such a distinction is made any more.

I hadn't noticed but AutoCAD created this message on notepad: "The plotter does not support the paper size 12.75 x 18.03 inches, printable area 12.50 x 17.78 inches. Confirm the new paper size before plotting." Not sue what I need to do. Any ideas what I should do? Cad64
Your custom paper size is not set up correctly. The printer cannot print on paper that is 12.75 x 18.03. I have the same problem with pdf's that I receive from outside sources that are odd sizes like that. I always have to take them into Photoshop and resize them in order for them to print correctly. Re-configure your custom paper size so that it is exactly 13 x 19.

SandmanNinja
Would the difference be the non-printable margin?
Guest eddie57
Sound's like it to me. I've just gotten around the issue by PDF'ing the file and then printing it without scaling. Works great.
bev.lynn
Eddie Have you tried this: In the ADT plot dialog, click Properties button next to the printer/plotter name. In Plotter Configuration Editor, select the Device and Document Settings tab. Under User-defined Paper Sizes & Calibration, click Modify Standard Paper Sizes (Printable Area) Check to see if there is a Borderless option for paper size you are trying to use or one appropriate. Click OK. If it works then go back and use the Save As option to create a pc3 file to use when using this plot configuration.
