Cesar R
When I am in the modeler, all I see is EPSF_Loader. I can export to 3DS from archicad, but how I get it into Lightwave?
dwright
Hi there.. Simply load it into modeler as any object, make sure your loading extension filter is set up to *.* all files, do not load into Layout (lw) it will not work.
Cesar R
Whenever I import a 3ds file or any file into LW it loads everyting into one single "unamed" layer. then I have to break everythign into defferent pieces, Ie. doors windows and walls. Is there a way to import into its apropiate layers? is the same with autocad?
dwright
no via LW. Using polytrans or similar type of app. Sorry! David

dwright
yes via 3ds. LW does not read archicad files directly, only 3ds/dxf/obj (wavefront obj). export your file as 3ds and that should do it. David
Andronikos
do I have to import the .3ds file using the modeler7 or the lightwave7? ...still I can not find out how to do it... sorry...
Allen
Use modeler. Open and for "types of files" - select - 'All Files' in the explorer window - otherwise you'll only see the lwo files. I use this option all the time to get from AutoCAD to LW - Works great.
