kippu
for an exterior animation , i am sure whatever works on a still will work... unless you are going for a timelapse
chow choppe
i am asking for a different lighting approach. Till now what worked for stills for us was already working for our animations but if u read my thread carefully i am asking for sharing lighting setups that people may have given a try which is not so "standard"
pumbaa
Edit: Oops, just realized this post was centuries old. I am pretty new in this part of 3d town, but a lighting technique I enjoy using, at least for interiors, is a VRay sphere light acting as the sun, toggled invisibility and no decay. Radius controls softness of shadows. For sky, create sphere and apply VRay light material with a sky texture in the light slot, increase the amount quite a bit. Not sure how well this works with either exteriors or animation though. Good luck! Edited June 1, 2011 by pumbaa
