Stephen Thomas Posted September 21, 2009 Share Posted September 21, 2009 It's probably worth dropping a vray plane into your scene just to gauge how off your horizon really is first. Make sure your ground level is at zero on the z axis too, as a 50-50 split in your HDRI should be the correct place for your horizon. If you really want to change it you could stretch the top half down slightly in photoshop. Or by adjust the vertical rotation, though that may have the effect of raising the horizon in your reflections. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...

Ive played around with the vertical rotation which has sorted this so thank you. But now when i render in perspective viewport everything is fine, but when i go to render with the vray camera they is no HDRI background at all it is just black! i have placed the HDRI image in the eniroment slot and i also have vray sun in the scene. So i change the F-number to 1 and i can see the hdri sky but then the model is over exposed to the light. Even if i play with the shutter speed nd film this does not change. After playinga round with the camera i have something usable using these settings: F-number 10.0 shutter speed 10.0 film speed 1250.0 Sun settings Intensity multipler 0.01 size multiplier 1.0 are these a bit extream?? i was thinging they would have been a easier way like just uping the multiplier!! Stephen Thomas Posted September 21, 2009 Share Posted September 21, 2009 If you're using the physical camera then your sun multiplier should be 1. Exposure adjustments should be done with the camera, not with the lights. Since you're altering the light multipliers anyway why not just make things easy for yourself and use a standard max camera? Their is an issue in what i have done anyway the HDRI is not been reflected in the glass at all. After some research ive read that i should change the HDRI multiplier x1000 - x1500. Ive only been doing it x20. So ill set the scene up again when the HDRI was to dark and try these higher multipliers and see if that works plus i hope this will then show the reflections in the glass.
