sygboe
It seems Apple are gearing up to take on the 3D market more. Does anyone know how likely it is that Autodesk are already developing a mac version? this may have been discussed to death already (sorry)
STRAT
not likely. but why not just use bootcamp?
Crazy Homeless Guy
I believe 3dsMax relies heavily on the .NET framework so like Strat said. Not unless something drastically changes.
AJLynn
I've never seen anything to indicate Autodesk is interested in having anything to do with OSX - aside from some products they've inherited like Maya for OSX.

Everything I have known about Apple says the contrary. I would LOVE to be proved wrong!
Jimy
Just get an Intel Mac and run windows for Max?
Brian Smith
I asked the question once to Peter from the Chaos group, and according to him, it will never happen...his explanation was over my head, but I believe he knows what he's talking about
SandmanNinja
Autodesk made a recent announcement regarding Macs and 3ds, but it wasn't about a native 3ds for Mac. http://www.cgarchitect.com/vb/37799-autodesk-opens-design-software-mac-via-parallels.html

Starting to compete in 3D would go against almost all of Apples LOB's and target audience. They are clearly focusing on the mass consumer at this point. I distintcly remember being told by an Apple employee in 1996 that they were not interested in pursuing 3D as a core market anymore. I cant see anything that shows they have changed that thought. jackb602
It seems Apple are gearing up to take on the 3D market more. I haven't heard anything about Apple's plans, but the Mac has been a great 3d platform for me since about 1995. Fortunately, Autodesk has some very capable and innovative competitors that are dedicated to cross platform support. Jack
Archiform 3D
Autodesk killed support for Macs long back - before I can even remember. To be honest, C4D on the Mac is still going well for me. The only pressure I get is from people that only know Max and are too blind to see anything else.
