EddieLeon Posted September 29, 2009 Author Share Posted September 29, 2009 I don't see how our benefiting from a doomed development makes our involvement reproachable in anyway when we have no idea its doomed and have no knowledge of the risks involved and the dirty dealings that might be taking place. I agree. I didn't mean to infer that the poorly designed projects are our fault. I just think we shouldn't single out Dubai on this thread. As Andy mentioned, there were many projects gone mad in other places. I guess my original point was that the madness seems to have come to an end. abowen Posted September 30, 2009 Share Posted September 30, 2009 human evolution / progress has always been pushed by projects like these. new engineering techniques will be invented that can be used elsewhere for other uses (more feasible / noble). america and europe did this same thing turn of the century ...... :-) i think wild architecture / engineering like this is a birthing process for first world societies. the kingdom is attempting to be seen as something other than 'new oil money' ..... architecture and urban planning is a big part of that plan. thankfully for us LOL andre Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
