chow choppe
hi everyone can anyone guide me on how to make a water flowing along the wall, something like a water curtain. need it for an interior view of a restaurant an example http://imghost.indiamart.com/data/R/H/MY-1003720/waterfall_250x250.JPG the above image doesnt have a wall behind the water but in my case i have this water flowing along the wall downwards and getting collected in a basin below , running across the wall bottom. thanks
Barringtonarch
to do one similar to the image shouldn't be too hard, it's just all in the texture. I'm not sure which software your using, but try starting with a wall then adding a water texture that has a bit of transparency & a bump map. kippu
take a ordinary water material , with bump , displacement , noise in reflection , and keep tweaking it till you get a satisfactory result ....this material highly depends on the environment so it is a bit tricky to get it correct
Nic H
prob do it with geometry, or displacement, using noise (2 scales) in a mix map maybe. make sure it has a thickness do you have to animate it?

SandmanNinja
Sometimes animating the phase of the material can pull it off (if it needs to be animated)
