TheAllusionisst
I thought while reading the long thread about archvis possibly being dead, that though this is rediculous, many think it will never be what it was before the recession. I disagree to a large extent, but thought that perhaps the professon as a whole should think about where it is going and where it would like to go. To that end I thought it might be interesting to start a thread on the discussion and perhaps start to losely put together procedures/guidelines/professional precedence for the practice of "architectural visualization" or perhaps just visualization in general. To start it off, I would propose: "The artist/studio/firm maintains ownership of materials commisioned to produce imagery/animation and compensation is soley for the purpose of using said materials for the use of demonstrating a design/product/script. Ownership of the imagery/animation and digital files created to produce imagery/animation remain the Artist/studio/firm's." I would adjust verbiage and think of other items, but for the sake of discussion, I think setting industry guidelines such as this could prove useful to protect us and lead the profession in a direction we feel is beneficial for us. Maybe nobody is interested in this concept and I know the ASAI is probably an organization that might take up the chore in detail if it was to happen, but I thought I would see if there was any interest in discussing it.
