Justyn Stevens
Hello all, I have an annoying problem whilst rendering a 3DSMax/VRay animation. Every now and again a light emplosion will appear on a surface and will fade in and out like a small/slow explosion or like a flash-bulb going off. I have vray sun and some vray lights as well as Vray light material and IES lights in the scene so it's a bit light heavy. But everything else looks good, so coul this be an IR map fault? I rendered at Medium animation 50/20. Any help would be much appreciated

Justyn Stevens
I'm not sure of the best way to do it, so here is a zipped up FLV file, hope that's ok! J.
Devin Johnston
Is there anything behind that wall that could be intersecting it at those two points?
Tommy L
Ive not seen that before. I think its unlikely to be co-planar geometry, that usually goes darker and flickers rather than the smooth 'on-off' transition you have there. More likely its a pre-calc lighting error. Other than that, I can only think that maybe you have a couple of accidental caustics.
