Sketchrender
Hi I am new to RT, I have been using Vray now since it came out. When I open old Models (ie before I got RT) I am finding it disconnects itself, as in, it hit a calculation problem. I don't have HRDIs in the model. I do have a lot of proxies trees chairs ect. They won't render, I presume thats just a fact of life at the moment? Why is it crashing out. What will RT not do ? Love it by the way, took a while to convince people how good it was. Stephen Thomas
I'm not sure what's causing your specific problem, but I can answer what Vray RT doesn't do. At the moment this includes support for displacement, xrefs and proxies. Having these in your scene shouldn't cause a crash though, they just won't show up in the viewport. braddewald
Philip, I had this problem too when I first bought RT. Go to the render settings dialogue, at the bottom of the first tab switch it from production to active shade and the RT options should be available in the next tab. Use a standard V-Ray material in the material override section and then retry. If everything works out ok, then it is a problem with the materials (maps). This is usually what happened to me when i first got the program. These problems stopped happening when I started creating new scenes from scratch. (I have no idea why.) If this doesn't fix your problem, I would email chaos group: they usually give a speedy reply (within a day or two). I hope this helps.
