It renders fine, and pretty fast as well, but when it finishes I get the UNHANDELD EXCEPTION - calling frameEnd() on render instances Last marker is at .\src\donecb.cpp

but max doesn't crash and I still have the render, but its an animation

anyone heard of this UNHANDELD EXCEPTION

From a programmer's point of view, when you write a program you need to try to anticipate most/all possible errors and ..er.. handle them. As in:

If error = "1" then (do error_1 routine)

If error = "2" then (do error_2 routine)

If error = "3" then (do error_3 routine)

realising not all errors can be anticipated, they put an ELSE:

ELSE

If any other error then (report error information so user can call the helpdesk)

The frameEnd() might be a clue - at what point in the animation does it crap out?

It looks like a function, and the .CPP at the end means the program was written in C++

A quick google of the entire error msg only returns a single hit, and that's back to your post. (Man, Google is fast - that's scary)

Just checking on the name of the program, I've found this (in Russian and translated it) - the original website: http://www.3dcenter.ru/forum/lofiversion/index.php/t33772.html:

QUESTION:

In me here this problem vray'[em] after each [rendrenga] Ray shouts some error “error: UNHANDLED EXCEPTION: Sending Of renderEnd () to of render of objects

Last of marker is at P:\dev\LocalVSS\vray\vrender\src\donecb.cpp, line 411: DoneCb:: regionDone (), finished of copying of region” and then max departs. That this after nonsense and as with it to fight. 3dsmax 7, vray 1.46.12

ANSWER:

place 15-[shku] or critically on 12-[shke] to sit?

you can in the parameters of [render] the region of [divizhen] it wound that so do not place on silence - must work without the problems

if it does not help lay to [vrey] and place on the clean place!

(Man, ya gotta love automatic translation programs)

Just an idea - find the frame it's crashing on and then render it all by itself and see what if it renders. It might be the camera is in a 'sweet spot' and is getting a weird reflection off some material and is confusing it...

Just an idea

That is a good post Joel, I found that exact same russian page. hehehe

but alas I still cant figure it out.

I have checked it on another machine and it seemed fine, thus i suspect my own computer is at fault, rather than vray.

Oh, and it does it on every single frame in every camera.

I'll just submit to our queue and report back if its actually a bigger problem than what i think its going to be.

hold your thumbs!!!

Ah, okay - that's good information.

IF it works fine on another computer, THEN it really can't be the model, eh?

How similar are these 2 computers (the 'bad' one and the 'good' one)?

Is the bad one very old? Not as much memory as the other? Same version of v-ray?

Same operating system? Same video card? Got all the recent drivers and patches for the hardware, operating system, 3ds, and the render engine?

Good luck - hopefully it will render properly. I learned long ago not to expect things to be perfect with computers. IDEALLY the scene should render without any warnings. HOWEVER as long as it renders properly, who cares, eh?

:)

We'll, I've got the strongest comper in the company (the one giving the problem) and the one that it worked on fine was previously the fastest dedicated render pc now converted to a work station.

I'll ask our techs to do a memory check later. maybe one of the sticks are going.

and at least the Light map calculations are going strong so its just a matter of waiting
