max.m
i am curious if there is a possibility to fix the problem, that in larger scenes, while zooming with the scroll wheel in the prespective viewport, the zoom steps are quite large. if i make a new scene with only a view little objects the "zoom steps" are much smaller when i scroll. neil poppleton
You can hold the control key down (i think it's that one) and that will change the scroll zooming.

SandmanNinja
I'm a fan of Control Alt Middle Mouse Button and then moving the mouse forwards and backwards. Good for those times when the zoom goes silly. Alt and Left Mouse Button makes it behave like the Orbit button, which is handy, too.
max.m
alt+scroll or left mouse button, etc slows whatever you do(zoom, orbit) ctrl+----------------------------- speeds up-------------------------
