Stephen - was the cafe inside a maximum security prison? I bet many a psychological thesis could be made from this photo; does the (possible) bird represent Mankind and the wire represent the World? Love and Security? "Tell me about your mother..."

Nice view, AJ

That's an interesting building, Mike. I think the t.v. can't handle it any more and is gonna jump.

Thanks, Tim. Nice color there. Are you liking the 35mm?

Is that an airplane in the background? Fro this angle it looks like a missile launch.

Yea it was an airplane. I rotated the camera around on purpose to make it look like it was flying straight up. I just wish I was in a little closer.

Whats not to love about the 35mm f1.8?! Its really great. My wife wanted me to take some pictures of her today so she could show them to her friend who gave her the dress - its a girl thing. Anyways, I thought it would be a good time to try out the new lens plus sb-600 flash I got since I have an actual paying shoot coming up - which is the only reason I have the budget to buy some new things. A fill light in harsh sunlight really helps out. I'm still learning how to use it, but if I try a few different settings something always works out.

Did you do your shoot with the 2.8 zoom yet?

Great photos as always.

This week I am adding an older one. This was taken about 3 years ago Columbus, OH.. I used a Canon A80 on it, it had a decent lens and sensor for a point and shoot. Fairly clean photos with little noise.

Cropped and curve adjustment in post. ....what are peoples opinions on post adjustments in general? Do you do them, or do you try to keep it direct off the camera.

The Nikon SB-600 is a good flash - I have one. Also have the older SB80DX (geez I'm old). Wish I had gotten the SB-800 so I could have wireless flash synch. I use these little Super Nova strobe lights with light sensors. They are REALLY powerful.

You can do wireless synch with the 600 too, right? I thought you could anyways...But my d60 doesn't have the wireless controller, so I think I'd need to buy the SU-4 to mount on top of my camera.....for another $85. :-)

Don't buy that without doing some research first - I don' think an SU-4 will fire an SB-600. An SB-600 can be fired by a higher end camera, an SU-800, an SB-800 and probably an SB-900.

Thanks for pointing that out. I didn't do a ton of research on flashes before I bought one. I almost bought a cheaper 3rd party flash, but I wanted something that would work the best with my camera, so I shelled out the extra cash. I got it primarily for on-camera use, so its not a big deal.

There are a few other off brand flashes that will work with the CLS, most popularly is the Nissin

Tim, what body are you using? i can work wirelessly with my d90 by setting commandermode and in the same menu turning off my onboard flash (--)

its really quite awesome!

Pardon! reading is hard, I see that you have a D60.
